Report on Work at the Sirius Educational Center

Over the past few weeks, I have served as an invited specialist at the Sirius Educational Center, providing consultations and training in 3D modeling for students. The participants were top-performing students from across the country, taking part in projects within the Big Challenges program.

Some of the students already had a basic understanding of 3D modeling, which allowed us to quickly move on to more complex tasks. As part of my work, I provided them with advanced learning materials and assigned practical tasks designed to enhance their professional skills.

The primary objective was to help students significantly improve the quality of their 3D models for a VR project, bringing them as close as possible to professional standards. I demonstrated the key differences between various types of 3D models, explained their applications in different projects, and provided a clear understanding of modern 3D software and workflows.

This experience contributed to the students’ professional development and better prepared them for future work in digital graphics and virtual reality.

Отчёт о работе в образовательном центре «Сириус»

В течение последних нескольких недель я выполнял обязанности приглашённого специалиста в образовательном центре «Сириус», где консультировал и обучал учащихся основам и углублённым аспектам 3D-моделирования. Участниками образовательной программы стали школьники-олимпиадники со всей страны, работающие над проектами в рамках программы «Большие вызовы».

Некоторые из учащихся уже имели базовые знания и навыки работы в 3D, что позволило оперативно перейти к более сложным задачам. В рамках моей деятельности я обеспечил обучающиеся методическими материалами повышенного уровня сложности, а также распределял практические задания, способствующие развитию их профессиональных компетенций.

Основной задачей было помочь участникам значительно улучшить качество 3D-моделей для VR-проекта, максимально приблизив их к профессиональным стандартам. Я продемонстрировал ключевые различия между различными типами 3D-моделей, пояснил особенности их использования в различных проектах и сформировал у учащихся чёткое представление о возможностях и специфике работы в современных 3D-пакетах.

Данный опыт способствовал расширению профессиональных навыков учащихся и их подготовке к дальнейшей работе в области цифровой графики и виртуальной реальности.

A couple of weeks ago, it was abandoned as a landing in the educational center Sirius as a guest expert for consulting and teaching children 3D. Children from Olympiad brought from all over the country took part in the “Big Challenges” projects. Fortunately, some children did not have to learn the basics of 3d. They already had a good modeling skill. And it was possible to go to the most interesting, to distribute tasks and give the training material an order of magnitude more difficult. I was required to help the children improve as much as possible and bring the quality of the models for the VR project closer to the original. Explain and clearly show the difference between different types of models for projects and leave a clear idea about 3D packages and ways of working.

Как обычно, я скептически относился к тому, что дети могут оказаться необычными. Однако после нескольких виртуальных ударов в голову, сопровождаемых их остроумным сарказмом, я начал подозревать, что передо мной действительно особенные учащиеся.

As usual, I was skeptical that the children might be out of the ordinary. However, after taking a few virtual hits to the head, accompanied by their sharp sarcasm, I began to suspect that I was dealing with truly exceptional students.

 

Ярмарка проектов

Довольно быстро пресса была обнаружена, ещё на дальних подступах к выставочным стендам. Началась охота на «мамонта» с волосами. Пока я закидывал попкорн в рот, я заметил, как группа детей окружила сначала репортёра Первого канала, а затем и репортёра России 24. Через несколько минут их буквально «погнали» к нужному проекту. На месте дети указали и убедили прессу, что их проект должен быть снят.

Project Fair

The press was quickly spotted, even from a distance, as they approached the exhibition stands. The hunt for the “hairy mammoth” began. While I was tossing popcorn into my mouth, I saw how a group of children surrounded the reporter from Channel One first and then the one from Russia 24. Within minutes, they were practically escorted to the project they wanted. Once there, the children pointed it out and convinced the press that their project was the one that should be filmed.

Дети размещены в комфортных условиях. Рядом с кампусом «Сириус» расположены море, бассейны, горы и спортивные комплексы. Проживание в современных номерах, а также множество классов, оснащённых различным оборудованием, включая 3D-принтеры, компьютеры, паяльники, лазерные резаки и мини-станки.

Campus

The children are accommodated in comfortable conditions. Near the Sirius campus, there are the sea, swimming pools, mountains, and sports complexes. They stay in modern rooms, and there are numerous classrooms equipped with various tools, including 3D printers, computers, soldering irons, laser cutters, and mini-machines.

Столовая в здании Сириуса — это место, где можно по-настоящему оценить вкусную еду. Очень вкусно!

О проекте

Для детей была поставлена задача, решение которой требовало использования технологий VR. В кратком изложении, они создали прототип VR-тренажёра для сортировочной горки для РЖД. По итогам защиты проекта перед руководителями различных направлений, их работа заняла первое место.

About the Project

A problem was posed to the children, which they had to solve using VR technology. In brief, they created a prototype of a VR simulator for a sorting slide for RZD. After the project defense in front of the heads of various departments, their work was ranked first.
